“I’m very pleased with the service I received from Trafalgar Risk Management. The online portal was very easy to use, they answered my questions quickly and efficiently, and I loved their personal touch. Every time I reached out, I got a customised response instead of the usual runaround experience when dealing with big companies.”
Dental Nurses
It's important for a dental nurse to have a policy in place to ensure they are protected both professionally and legally. Having proper cover provides peace of mind in the event of a complaint, error, or legal claim. It also demonstrates professionalism and compliance with GDC requirements, helping to safeguard both the dental nurse's career and the safety of patients.

Cover Overview
Dental nurses benefit from comprehensive protection through two distinct insurance policies. The ARAG 'GDC Disciplinary & Investigation Protection' Policy covers legal costs (up to £100,000) related to disciplinary investigations and disciplinary proceedings initiated by the General Dental Council, fitness to practise hearings, regulatory appeals, and certain criminal proceedings linked to their professional duties or Good Samaritan acts. It includes representation during official complaints, regulatory body investigations, and police enquiries that may affect their registration.
Complementing this, the CFC 'Dental Indemnity' Policy offers cover for claims arising from alleged negligence during dental professional services, including injury to patients, breaches of confidentiality. Together, these policies ensure robust legal, professional, and financial support for dental nurses in their professional roles.

How It Works
Should you need to report a claim, circumstance, or investigation, kindly refer to the following instructions:

CFC - Notification of a 'claim'
If your claim is in regards to your dental professional services which has caused injury to a patient then you must notify 'CFC' as soon as practicable, but within 30 days from you becoming first aware of the instance.

CFC - Notification of 'circumstance'
If you become aware of a circumstance that could lead to a claim against you (in regards to your dental professional services) then you must notify 'CFC' as soon as practicable, within 30 days of being made aware.

ARAG - Notification of a claim/GDC investigation
If you receive a claim notification, you must notify ARAG as soon as possible. However, if you instruct a solicitor without prior written agreement from ARAG, then you will be liable for all costs that are not covered under the policy.

In order to maintain registration with the General Dental Council (GDC), all dental nurses in the UK are required to hold appropriate indemnity insurance that covers them for the work they carry out. This is a regulatory requirement designed to protect both patients and professionals, ensuring that dental nurses are properly supported in the event of a complaint, claim, or investigation.
Our policy has been specifically tailored for dental nurses and is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive on the market. It offers robust protection including professional indemnity, legal defence, GDC disciplinary support, and extended cover for Good Samaritan acts and training activities. Our policy delivers the peace of mind and compliance dental nurses need-backed by specialist insurers who truly understand the dental profession.
Employers Liability is a compulsory policy required by law if your company employ staff.
Insure your legal liability to pay damages and claimant's costs, fees and expenses for injury to an employee arising in the course of his employment by you and happening during the period of insurance.
